Mary Katrantzou

The blog Honestly...WTF's post down memory lane reminded me of the fantastic Mary Katrantzou. I have featured some images of her work, but here's a post dedicated to her. I'm always a fan of unique prints on clothing, I'm a bit picky though. I first saw Mary's collection when I was in Milan and went to 10 Corso Como, the dresses were so beautiful and interesting with their interior prints. I then saw 'Serena' wear the dress on Gossip Girl a couple of months later and was such a fan seeing the dress materialised. The prints keep on coming. Ugh, if only I was made of money.

On another note I want to wish you a Happy New Year, the time has totally crept up on me and I know its only a few moments away for many of my friends and family in Sydney. I still have to think up of my New Year's resolutions. I hope 2012 is good for you all x

I say you're the bestest.

So tempted to get on the layering of floral prints bandwagon, it is like making flowers bad ass and edgy, which I'm up for...but I fear it is a trend that will fade fast. I'm also going to go back to summer in Sydney; layering won't be viable. I'm at the point where I just like investing in great basics as I've come to the realisation that my wardrobe is humongous. I've forgotten how much clothes I've left at home, in fact I've forgotten they even kind of scares me. Can't wait to be reunited with  my beloved shoe collection.

Speaking of trends: Lana Del Rey seems to be trending a bit, and I know some people may ride her off as a fad, but I'm totally in love with her. I know there's a bit of hysteria around whether she is fake or not but I've read a lot of interviews with her and she just seems lovely.  I can admit that I didn't really dig her at first, but she has grown on me so much. She is kind of filling the void that Amy Winehouse left for me, I hope it is not completely taboo to say so, sorry.

Beautiful Beautiful Phillip Lim. I know this was shown quite a while ago but here are some detail shots. His attention to shapes and layering and colours are outstanding. Little things like the handbag arm slots and hem lines really make this collection stand out.

Paris, again Pt. II

This time in Paris was lovely because I explored things that I didn't have a chance to do last time; like drink coffee at the cafe were Amélie works in the movie - which was situated around the corner from my hostel, and I just stumbled across it. Or visit the beautiful National Library with its wooden interior (which is closed the public but I snuck in and had a good glimpsed until I was caught haha), or escape the cold and sit for a while in one of the little reading rooms in Shakespeare & Co reading a book etc. These are the last of the photos, enjoy x

E' Funzione

Such amazing denim in the middle with the dots, does anyone know where they are from? I think possibly Acne..which I wouldn't be surprised as I love Acne. I almost bought another pair of Odessa Kex Jeans in Paris just because I love them so much and am scared they will break because I wear them too too much! Hands-down best purchase of my materialistic life - Acne should be paying me for this plug!

I keep thinking about wanting a tattoo, it is in the back of my mind but I still have not come across anything I like enough to put on my body permanetly. I used to want a small one behind my ear, then one on my shoulder/shoulder blade, now I kind of like this more discrete one on the underside of the arm. Just have to find a design I like/means enough to me!

Paris, again Pt I

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts.. my Blogger is being horrible and taking forever to upload photos, or just malfunctioning. It actually took me forever to do this post!! Paris was so so great, I'm so glad I went again. I got to do the little things that I didn't get a chance to do the other times, silly things... like 'buy a striped top' or dine at 'Cafe de Flore' etc...haha  The weather wasn't too amazing but I didn't give a crap...because its Paris. I was a little unsure if I'd get lonely because I booked the flights for just myself, but it turned out to be great because I didn't have to worry about anyone else, and as soon as I got over my apprehension about dining by was perfect! To find out descriptions/more about the photos, just click on 'Read More' below. There is still more photos to come, but it might take me a little while longer.

I hope you all had a great Christmas, I spent mine at an orphans Christmas where I'd never met 98% of the people before hand, but had such a great time! So much fun, like no other Christmas I've ever experienced. Photos from that night to come soon too
