Paris, again Pt. II

This time in Paris was lovely because I explored things that I didn't have a chance to do last time; like drink coffee at the cafe were Amélie works in the movie - which was situated around the corner from my hostel, and I just stumbled across it. Or visit the beautiful National Library with its wooden interior (which is closed the public but I snuck in and had a good glimpsed until I was caught haha), or escape the cold and sit for a while in one of the little reading rooms in Shakespeare & Co reading a book etc. These are the last of the photos, enjoy x

Paris, again Pt I

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts.. my Blogger is being horrible and taking forever to upload photos, or just malfunctioning. It actually took me forever to do this post!! Paris was so so great, I'm so glad I went again. I got to do the little things that I didn't get a chance to do the other times, silly things... like 'buy a striped top' or dine at 'Cafe de Flore' etc...haha  The weather wasn't too amazing but I didn't give a crap...because its Paris. I was a little unsure if I'd get lonely because I booked the flights for just myself, but it turned out to be great because I didn't have to worry about anyone else, and as soon as I got over my apprehension about dining by myself...it was perfect! To find out descriptions/more about the photos, just click on 'Read More' below. There is still more photos to come, but it might take me a little while longer.

I hope you all had a great Christmas, I spent mine at an orphans Christmas where I'd never met 98% of the people before hand, but had such a great time! So much fun, like no other Christmas I've ever experienced. Photos from that night to come soon too

Je suis désolé

So sorry for the lack of posts, my Blogger was being really silly and then I went to Paris. I just got back, and finished eating a pain au chocolat that I brought home (I may have bought more than one). Actually I freaked out that I wouldn't be able to eat any of that beautiful French food for a long time so I spent all day with food in hand! I will post photos from Paris later on if I get the chance, otherwise after I get back from Milan for Christmas.

Rooftops of Paris

I found the book 'I Tetti di Parigi' (the rooftops of Paris) in a local bookstore and was completely in awe of the intricate watercolour illustrations of Paris. So beautiful was it in its delicate depictions of Parisian architecture, something I love all too much. I could tell it was an Italian translation because the author and illustrator names were both French. I want this book so bad but unfortunatley my weight limit cannot cater for it. I'm going to explore book shops in Paris and if I come across the French version I'm going to say 'it was meant to be'.

Monet

Monet was kind of the artist I grew up around; prints of his work were on the walls of my home. I went to the Musée d’Orangerie in Paris in September and took photos of  his beautiful Water Lilies. The museum's website now reads:
Photos of the Water LIlies are prohibited after November 1st 2011.
 So glad I was fortunate to be there before this rule came in;

Quando sono più felice

Going back to Paris... because I can. Yes, I agree... 3 times to Paris in one year is excessive but flights were as cheap as 12.95 Euros and I won't be able to do that when I'm back in Sydney.  I'm going just before Christmas and I think it will be exceptional to be in Paris with it all lit up + still have a few things I would love to do. I guess most people would be surprised to hear I'm a huge fan of ballet, so I was really upset I missed out on tickets to the ballet the previous times I went to Paris. However this time I got tickets to Cinderella and I can't wait!

Unrelated, but these are two pictures of me and a puppy that raced up to us in a park in Budapest. I'm missing my dogs like there is no tomorrow and I can't wait to see them in 6 weeks. I'm actually more excited to see them then any one else (sorry guys!)

It's love.
