Devotion

I've said it before, I'll say it again.
I don't know any one personally who wears them, so I feel like I can get away with this:I know I'm no authoritative voice, but I really hate Jeffery Campbell shoes... Litas grotesquely disproportionate and I don't get why they are still around. If you don't know what I'm talking about, keep it that way. Rant over.

On another topic that reminds me of Sydney is the sweet terraces of inner-city. The Cool Hunter recently did  feature on one that had been renovated completely in Balmain. Relatively austere on the exterior but amazing inside. It reminds me of the terrace house I grew up in in Glebe, quaint and understated on the outside, but modern and expanding on the inside.

On the topic of architecture - check out this cute church.

The design of this makes it look more spiritual than most churches!

Flight

So, I tried on those gold shoes from Zara that Garance was wearing. So awful. I looked like a clown, they were just SO shiny, I felt like my feet were glowing…oh well.

I'm so upset about not being able to do French that I've decided I'm going to start teaching myself the basic vocabulary and sentence structure. I have a magazine I bought ages ago called WAD that is in French with English translations and I've started to write down and learn vocabulary from the magazine. A VERY small step for me, but a step none the less.. and I'm finding French words to be similar to Italian, so that makes it a tiny bit easier. My housemate said she would also help me out with pronunciation because she speaks French (as well as English, Flemish, German and learning Italian right now… I'm so envious), I like to think she's returning the favour for me teaching her slang words like 'yuck', 'crap', 'sup?' and other integral words. When I get proper Internet (MONDAYYYYYY) I'll go and suss out some audiobooks too. It may not be the most practical or logical thing to decide to learn French when you are in Italy and still learning Italian, but my hearts set on the task, and in Alyssa's world, that usually means I'll make it happen.

While we are talking about things French... You should watch the above clip, it is so amazing.

Watercolours

Always a huge fan of watercolours - love these. I think it's the blending, seeping and merging of colours that make watercolours so rewarding and beautiful.

Wallflower

Quite excited that one of my favourite books when I was younger; 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' is being turned into a movie with Emma Watson playing one of the lead characters!

Gold Shoes of Glory

So, I am so devastated with the whole enrolment process. For some reason it didn't let me enrol in one of my design mandatory subjects that was 6 credit points. I sent off what they call an 'e-request' to get it sorted. I just got a reply stating that they had replaced my 6 credit points with a 12 credit point subject and I was to un-enrol from my elective to do this mandatory subject. Sounds simple right? Wrong. My heart broke at reading the words - I have to un-enrol from my French Language elective, I am devasted. Italian is great, but ever since highschool I've wanted to do French except a series of unfortunate events has prevented me from learning it...and the tale continues.

I was just on Garance Doré's blog and she had uploaded a photo of a woman from Paris, nothing special..but still lovely. I really really want to move there and learn French, so I guess I'll find a way!

On another note, I love Garance but I'm not a huge fan of her fashion sense. However, in this image she is wearing the gold shoes from Zara that I keep staring at, I can't make up my mind on whether I like them or not! However I really like how Garance has teamed it up with a fairly masculine coat. I can see myself wearing a winter coat, tight black/dark jeans and then POP, my gold shoes of glory. I might have to visit Zara and try them on. I've only got a whole 9 week left (yikes) to stock up on that bad boy.
