End of your rope.

Not really sure where all of this is going. These are my initial edits of photos I took in the USA, mainly colour correction. I visited so many galleries abroad, mainly in New York, and feel so inspired  but I just don't know how to get my head around all the things buzzing in my mind. Like a past university tutor said to me, an idea will just come to me like osmosis.

I'd like to push a technique or idiosyncratic edit to them for conceptual purposes. At the moment all the colouring is different in each photo, I'd like them unified. We'll just see where the wind blows me...

Ceramics

A recent trip to Japan (let's pretend you didn't know I went to Japan) has given rise to my new obsession with ceramics. I just want it all! I've even looked into signing up to a pottery class with Hazelhurst Gallery (saving it for after I finish my degree in 3-ish months!).  I am also keen to check out Chinaclay in Clovelly which stocks artisan ceramics... I have a feeling this will be window shopping as I think there is something really beautiful about making my own!

Japan Diary Pt.2: more blossom and more zen.

Japan Diary Pt.1

This is well overdue... my apologies. I went to Japan with a small group from my university as part of a design tour. We were able to participate and observe traditional art practises, as well as explore the contemporary Japanese design scene. We also had more than enough time to explore the cities Kyoto, Tokyo and Osaka by ourselves which usually involved shopping and eating :) I think my favourite parts were walking around the Meiji Shrine and surrounding forest alone, stumbling upon a Cherry Blossom tree and having a full blown photo shoot with it, as well as experiencing Robot Restaurant with Irit and Steph! I really love Japan and will definitely be going back. I think with each visit you can delve further into what the country has to offer. There are plenty more photographs on their way. Enjoy x
